The Knights took the lead late and defeated Jenkintown 11-8 on Tuesday.  The game went to extra innings and was tied at eight when Robert Lucas broke the tie by singling on a 3-2 count, driving in two runs.

The base paths were crowded throughout this high-scoring game. The Knights collected ten hits and Jenkintown had five. Lucas, Cole Levis, and Jordan Mitchell all collected multiple hits for The Knights. Lucas went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead DC in hits.  Levis led the Knights with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 for the day.

The Knights held a 6-1 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th inning. Jenkintown scored four runs in that segment, sparked by a triple by Jeff  Staples and made it a ballgame, shrinking the lead to 6-5.

With DC up 8-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Jenkintown closed the gap, eventually tying things up on an error that brought in their 8th run of the contest.

Josh Dell’Arciprete was on the hill for the Knights, surrendering five runs on three hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
